the version of you that hustled to survive deserves to finally exhale 💙
she worked so hard. she deserves to rest in what she built.
i don’t think we talk enough about her.
the version of you who didn’t have the luxury of softness.
the one who had to figure things out quickly.
who kept going because stopping didn’t feel like an option.
i can still feel her sometimes.
the urgency in her decisions.
the way she measured her worth through how much she could carry.
the quiet belief that if she just did a little more, she would finally feel safe.
she was always moving.
always thinking ahead.
always preparing for what could go wrong.
and if i’m honest, she got me through a lot.
she held things together when they could have fallen apart.
she showed up when it would have been easier to disappear.
she built a life out of effort, resilience, and sheer will.
but here’s the part i’m learning now:
she didn’t know when to stop.
even when things got better.
even when the pressure eased.
even when there was finally space to breathe.
she kept going.
because slowing down didn’t feel like safety
it felt like risk.
maybe you feel this too.
you’ve created something more stable than where you started.
you’ve grown, built, healed in ways your past self needed.
and yet…
rest still feels unfamiliar.
ease feels temporary.
and a part of you is still bracing for something to go wrong.
that doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong.
it means your nervous system is still living in an old story.
one where survival required constant effort.
one where letting your guard down didn’t feel safe.
so instead of trying to force yourself into softness,
what if you met her first?
the version of you who carried everything.
what if you acknowledged her?
told her:
you don’t have to hold it all anymore
you did enough
i’ve got it from here
because she doesn’t need to disappear.
she just needs to feel safe enough to rest.
ease is not the opposite of who you’ve been.
it’s what she was trying to reach all along.
you don’t have to earn your way out of survival mode.
you’re allowed to soften, even if it feels unfamiliar.
and maybe today, that’s enough
letting one moment be easier than you’re used to.
rest is not where you fall behind.
it’s where you finally arrive.
you are allowed to exhale 💙
